Baccardi has a strong flavour, made by distilling juice or molasses from sugar cane and maturing in oak barrels for 2-20 years. Among the aromas you can sense spices, sour cream, vanilla, chocolate and roasted elements. Baccardi is most commonly used in drinks, hot drinks, as a digestif and as a condiment, and is included in many cocktails, such as Cuba Libre and Egg Toddy. Rum toddy on hot tea or water, honey or sugar and dark rum warms wonderfully on a rowdy evening. Like cognac, it is a perfect after-dinner digestif and is served at different temperatures depending on its intended use: chilled in drinks and at room temperature as an avec or toddy. Baccardi is also suitable as a flavour carrier in chocolate cake or Christmas biscuits.
